February is Black History Month. It is a time to look back at the heritage of slavery in our nation, and the enslaved history in our own region.
We can not forget our past and Historic Rosedale Plantation takes special note in telling accurate histories of the enslaved who inhabited Rosedale.
On February 27th we invite you to join us for a unique smithy demonstration and living history program where you can see blacksmiths at work, talk to trained docents as they portray the enslaved peoples who actually lived and worked here. Learn about this 200 year old property, her enslaved residents and find out about some big plans for our future.
The Forging Ahead program is $10 or you can purchase a combo ticket for Forging Ahead and our 1:30 house tour for only $15.
