For hundreds of years, music has played an important role in the development of visual art. The result of the connection between music and art often leads to sensory perceptions and experiences. Using modern day software and hardware instruments, this collection of experimental sound performances is centered around the musical talents of multiple local sound artists. Join us at the Gantt Center to witness how they transform and bend sound in new ways in relation to our current exhibitions. During each ubiquitous sound experience in the gallery, the musicians will experiment with light and sound, exploring deconstruction and reconstruction, breaking down rhythms to their most abstract form, and then manipulating the sound waves into something new for our ears. This is one Gantt After Dark that shouldn't be missed! Where art + culture come to life!
