Gaudium Musicae Concert Series Offers An Irish Airneál | Charlotte NC Travel & Tourism
The official travel resource
Irish guitarist and singer Dáithí Sproule joins the Raleigh-based duo Little Windows for an Airneál—an evening of Irish songs, poetry, stories, and tunes. Dáithí Sproule, a native of Derry who has lived for many years in Minnesota, is one of Irish music’s most respected guitar accompanists as well as a sought-after teacher and lecturer on guitar styles as well as Irish music, mythology, literature, and language. Little Windows is a duet comprised of North Carolina natives Mark Weems and Julee Glaub, a husband and wife team producing a mix of Appalachian, Irish, Old- time Gospel and traditionally based originals with a special focus placed on unaccompanied ballads. All ticket holders are invited to a post-show shindig with the artists, featuring live Irish music by Diarmuid O’Sullivan and Friends. Advance tickets available $12 for adults, $8 for students and $30 for families until January 19, 2016. Children 12 years old and under are free. Prices increase at door
