... The Museum of the Waxhaws will host a band of Pirates on August 29th, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Watch feats of daring do and learn the history of the Pirates that helped Andrew Jackson save New Orleans from the British in 1812. Meet Jean Lafitte, be amazed by cannon and period fire arms fire, as well as some good old fashion sword play. Hear tall tales of bravery and even talk to a mermaid. Get some selfies with your favorite buccaneer. Bring a picnic lunch and hang all day with the Pirates, maybe get a piece of eight or two. Bring the young Pirates 14 and under in garb and win a prize. Enjoy a family oriented day and travel back in time to an age when the sea and freedom made legends of common men. Bring the lads and lasses on out. What's better than a day of history and rubbing elbows with Andrew Jackson and Jean Lafitte?
