The Year We Thought About Love | Charlotte NC Travel & Tourism
The official travel resource
What happens when a diverse group of LGBTQ youth dares to be "out" on stage talking truthfully about their lives? The Year We Thought About Love goes behind the scenes of the oldest queer youth theater in America. In a twist on the common image of LGBTQ youth as victims, the film reveals the troupe members as artists and activists, celebrating the fullness of their lives in both thoughtful and hilarious ways. CAROLINAS PRIDE THEATRE ENSEMBLE (CPTE), a theatre collective especially created to empower LGBTQA youth & young adults, is hosting this event and will kick-off the film screening with a thrilling performance of their original choreopoem entitled WE ARE MORE. This marks CPTE's first major fundraiser. THE EVENT WILL BE CANCELLED if 60 tickets at $10 each aren't sold by October 5, 2015. Please purchase a ticket(s) or/and make a donation today!
