Fill up on comfort food at Landmark Diner Restaurant
Beloved by the Charlotte community for more than 20 years, Landmark Diner Restaurant offers a global menu served well into the night, and locals respond to its warm, classic diner feel. Featured on Food Network’s “Diner’s Drive-Ins and Dives,” Landmark goes above and beyond to make patrons feel at home. House favorites include the savory chicken pot pie and the American Turkey Tom-Tom—described simply as “Thanksgiving on a plate”—featuring perfectly seasoned baked stuffing and a turkey-cooking technique that is not just a labor of love but a true representation of the devotion Landmark’s chefs have to the art of cooking. When you’ve filled up on heaping portions of spanakopita, chicken parmigiana or breakfast served all day, check out the enticing dessert case filled to the brim with cakes, pastries, breads and specialty items—all baked fresh daily and with love.

Pick up imaginative gifts and handcrafted wares at Moxie Mercantile
Located in a historic Plaza Midwood cottage, Moxie Mercantile is everything that is right about retail shopping. Devoted to handmade goods, owner and operator Michelle Castelloe aims to blend sophistication with natural elements. At Moxie, you’ll find handmade leather goods from Utah, hand-poured candles from Indiana, pottery and jewelry from local Charlotte artisans (many from Plaza Midwood themselves), and fair-trade gifts from all over the world. All of this is set against the warm backdrop of a historic home’s hardwood floors, stone hearth and soft lighting. Enjoy the occasional pop-up shop or additions found at estate sales or upcycled items from local vendors. Merchandise moves quickly, so when you fall in love with something, treat yourself immediately because it may not be there tomorrow.

Satisfy your craving for hops at Salud Beer Shop
Bringing the world’s beers to the Queen City, Salud Beer Shop prides itself on an extensive collection of cold ones. Having opened as a cozy, inviting spot offering local bottles, Salud has expanded and is now offering 12 beers on tap as well as hundreds of bottles and cans from all over the world. And it’s not stopping there; the shop now brews its own beer, one barrel at a time, employing local ingredients and experimental hops. Salud plans to open its own local taproom with a seven-barrel brewing system, so be on the lookout for the grand opening this spring. In the meantime, take note of weekly specials, like board game night every third Tuesday of the month, Wednesday night wine specials and discounted drafts on Mondays. And grab a bite from the in-shop eatery, FūD at Salud, which wrapped filming for “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” in December 2016.
