Be a Golfer for the Day

Regardless of where you typically fall on the leaderboard, here are some of the best ways to enjoy tee time in the Queen City.

Watch the pros

The Quail Hollow Club is home to the Wells Fargo Championship, happening this year from May 2 to 8. Fans can buy single-day or weekly tickets. Can’t get enough of the elite competition? Pro golf returns to Charlotte when the PGA Championship comes to Quail Hollow in August of 2017.

Tighten up your skillset

When it’s time to brush up on the basics, a trip to Dana Rader Golf School is essential. The instructors at this Golf Channel Academy (the only one of its kind in the Carolinas) teach players how to find a rhythm that they can successfully recreate each time they hit the links.

Uncover a hidden gem

The Dr. Charles L. Sifford Golf Course at Revolution Park offers golfers a nine-hole outing that’s packed with history and character. Players appreciate its affordable tee times, too. Revolution Park is also home to The First Tee of Charlotte, a program that teaches young people leadership skills through golf.

Three to See

  1. For those willing to invest in order to enjoy a perfectly manicured course, places like Charlotte Country Club, Carmel Country Club and TPC Piper Glen offer an exclusive experience packed with amenities.
  2. Whether you have colleagues staying at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge or are simply looking to play a challenging course in a beautiful setting, the par-71 at The Golf Club at Ballantyne won’t disappoint.
  3. A very different type of golf adventure will soon settle in Charlotte, as TopGolf won approval for construction in Southwest Charlotte. The golf entertainment complex comes complete with skill-based games to challenge your fundamentals, plus dining options. The Charlotte facility will be one of 28 TopGolf franchises open or opening soon across the country.
