With warm weather here to stay for a while, nailing down your summer watering hole is of utmost importance. Whether you want to relax with friends for happy hour or get to know a new special someone, Dilworth Tasting Room is the perfect space.
New to the Dilworth neighborhood as of January, Dilworth Tasting Room is the brainchild of owner Jaffer Kovic, whose goal was to add a touch of other-worldly charm to Charlotte. An experienced world traveler and advanced sommelier, Kovic recognized the up-and-coming potential of the Queen City and made it his mission to create a space in which patrons could enjoy life, enjoy wine and enjoy getting to know people.
Housed in the historic Dilworth Billiards building, which has long awaited a new face, Dilworth Tasting Room’s interior is simply breathtaking. By retaining some of the old billiard hall’s signage as an homage to its past and pairing that with industrial light fixtures, custom-made furniture, and touches of mahogany and copper, the design has delivered a truly distinctive ambiance.
Enjoy wine by the glass or bottle or choose from any number of carefully selected beers. Pair your pour with a cheese board that combines every kind of fromage you can conceive of and a tapas dish (try the tasty basil pesto and cherry tomato-adorned burrata). Kick back on the exquisite red couches or drink in the fresh air on the garden patio. Hidden from the main road and boasting a koi pond, the outdoor space is a tranquil respite from the 9-5.
Dilworth Tasting Room offers weekly events, like the popular Sir Winston Churchill cigar night on Wednesdays. Choose your stogie and enjoy the patio. Better yet, partake in Pretty in Pink Thursdays for which fashioning yourself in pink will fetch you half-off bottles of rosé.
New for the summer is a weekend brunch every Saturday and Sunday as well as a beautiful espresso bar that doles out coffee from 6:30 to 9 each morning.
In need of a new neighborhood hangout? Looks like you’ve come to the right place.
Plan your trip to Dilworth Tasting Room.
