Most Charlotte bars and restaurants offer local brews, but these watering holes focus heavily on local and regional craft beers. And beer-centric stores and specialty bottle shops in the area offer a wide assortment of local brews that can be enjoyed on site or taken home.

Awarded Voter’s Choice “Best Craft Beer Selection” by Charlotte magazine, Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse features a no-nonsense menu with a variety of unique craft beer options. With five locations in the Charlotte region and more than 60 beers on tap, you’re never far from a good cold one. The Uptown location also features The Cellar at Duckworth’s, which combines gastropub fare with an impressive list of specialty beers and handcrafted cocktails. The Cellar’s one-of-a-kind vintage beer cellar houses more than 300 rare beers, which are always chilled at approximately 50 degrees.
 
Located in the University area, Flying Saucer offers more than 80 taps and about 150 bottles, as well as a full pub menu. Be sure to check the website before visiting, as the selection is regularly updated with seasonal offerings and special events.
 
Named one of “America’s 100 Best Beer Bars” by DRAFT magazine, Growlers Pourhouse in NoDa features a rotating list of American craft beers, including a cask ale from its 1936 refurbished hand-pump beer engine, along with beer-pairing bites, like raw oysters or the award-winning Growlers Reuben.

Featuring local and regional craft beer, good food and more than 100 taps, Growler USA in Ballantyne is a neighborhood pub, growler shop and craft beer haven. Growler USA also carries draught wine, hard cider, kombucha teas, cold-pressed coffee, handcrafted root beer and more.

Formerly World of Beer, Helles & Dunkel is a locally operated beer bar in South End offering 60 rotating taps, 200 bottled and canned beers, and spirits.

Serving Argentinian, American- and European-influenced tapas and entrees, custom-crafted desserts and beer-inspired cuisine, Pint Central focuses on products that are organically and locally grown and prepared in house. The bar features 34 taps, more than 40 bottled beers, custom cocktails, wine and specialty beer bottles.

Pop the Top Craft Beer Shop
Located within the growing Historic South End district, cozy couches, tables and chairs, and an outdoor patio space invite customers to relax while enjoying a craft beer, cider or kombucha tea. Pop the Top Craft Beer Shop boasts a laid back environment, convenient location, friendly customer service and products of consistently fresh and high quality.  
 
National brewpub chain Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery in Uptown features savory pasta dishes, seafood and steaks, but the second part of the popular eatery’s name speaks volumes. Rock Bottom is also a brewery. The in-house brewer creates unique seasonal beers as well as beers dedicated to the Charlotte market.
 
Tank’s Tap, located in 7th Street Public Market in Uptown, celebrates local and regional craft beer with 12 rotating beers on tap, 48 North Carolina bottled beers and a growler station that allows you to take your favorite local craft beer home.
 
Named one of the “Best Beer Gardens in America” by thrillist.com and one of the “Top 22 Beer Gardens in America” by Time Out New York, VBGB Beer Hall & Garden at AvidXchange Music Factory features more than 30 craft beers and imports on draft, plus a family-friendly environment with cornhole, giant chess and Jenga on the large patio and volleyball on the sand courts. VBGB’s specialty frost rail, 5 inches of gleaming ice that borders the bar, is sure to keep your drink extra cold.
 
Bottle Shops

The Cornelius-based bottle shop features 16 rotating beers on tap, a beer engine for cask ales, wines on tap and a wine slushy machine. The shop is committed to American-made craft beers with a special focus on local and state breweries. Bonus: Bottled & Tapped carries Twenty Degree Chocolates, which means you can indulge in+ amazing beer and chocolate tastings.
 
One of the original craft brew supporters on the Charlotte scene, Brawley’s Beverage offers hundreds of craft beer selections, cool merchandise, gifts and more. It also hosts the annual Brawley’s Black & Blue event each year.

With two locations in the Charlotte area (Dilworth and South End), Bulldog Beer & Wine offers everything for the craft beer (and dog) lover including rotating beers on tap, bottles, cans, growlers, gluten free beer, wine and cider. The South End location also has a mini convenience store stocked with grocery items and home-brewing equipment for the aspiring brewer.
 
This craft beer store and craft beer bar located in Matthews only carries beers made by breweries that are independently owned. Inspired by Belgium’s amazing beer culture and devotion to locally brewed beer, Carolina Beer Temple strives to support the local market by offering more than 450 different craft beers with a special focus on rare and hard-to-find beers.
 
Cornelius Drafthouse and Bottle Shop
Cornelius Drafthouse and Bottle Shop in Lake Norman prides itself on stocking great beers on tap, craft bottles, growlers and kegs. The offerings make it a perfect party resource.
 
Craft Tasting Room and Growler Shop, located in South End, is a dedicated craft growler and bottle shop, beer garden and specialty grocery store, that focuses on local craft beer (there are 36 varieties on tap), artisanal regional cheeses, charcuterie and agricultural sundries.
 
Housed in a family- and dog-friendly bungalow in Huntersville, Crafty Beer Guys carries 16 rotating craft beers on draft, three wines on tap, more than 450 bottled craft beers, more than 150 fine wines and craft soda for the kids. It also sells home brewing supplies and offers draft system installation and maintenance services.
 
Just north of Charlotte, this craft beer store is the go-to destination for beer lovers in the Davidson community. It features 12 rotating taps and more than 300 bottled beers that can be enjoyed at the bar or on the patio.
 
Located in South End, Good Bottle Co. offers bottles, cans, growlers, draft pints and draft half pints organized by style, making it easy to find your favorite beer. With 12 taps rotating frequently, at least two taps are always dedicated to Charlotte beer. And craft breweries from Charlotte and around the state takeover Good Bottle Co. regularly on Tap Takeover Nights. 

Pintville
The first craft beer bar and bottle shop in Pineville, Pintville features 30 beers on tap and a variety of six-packs, bottles and cans from local and national craft brewers.

With a focus on local products, this eclectic market carries craft beer on draft and in bottles, fine wine, deli sandwiches, soup, salads and more. Enjoy live music and a pint on the dog-friendly patio. 
 
This bottle/retail shop in NoDa carries 12 beers on tap and hundreds of craft beer bottles and cans from around the world. It also produces unique beer recipes in its single-barrel nanobrewery, called Salud Cervezeria, and sandwiches and waffle-whiches at its in-house grub hub, FūD at Salud.
 
This modern-day general store, with locations in Plaza Midwood and soon-to-be OakWold and South End, is a mix between a deli, a bottle shop, a bar and a convenience store, offering a variety of cold craft beers, wine and tasting events in a community-friendly atmosphere.
 
Self-described as "an unorthodox fine wine and craft beer shop and bar with a musical pulse," The Cork and Cash serves up 12 rotating drafts, wine, bourbon/scotch/whiskey and pub grub.
 
This funky, coffee-house-meets-bottle-shop recently joined the Plaza Midwood neighborhood. The roughly 2,000-square-foot spot in the Central Crossing complex was formerly a CrossFit gym. Owner Patrick Villafane transformed it into a space where you can kick back with friends and try one of the six carefully selected beers on tap. The Hop Shop also houses a mix-and-match bottled selection of brews from around the corner and around the world.
 
Total Wine & More is the country’s largest independent retailer of fine wine and features four locations in the Charlotte area. There's also a focus on beer; the typical store carries more than 2,500 beers sourced from national breweries and hard-to-find craft beers and imports.
 
This bottle shop and tasting room in the Lake Norman/Mooresville area is dedicated to the art of craft beer. 16 rotating taps and hundreds of bottled beers, including local, regional, national and select imports, take the spotlight, while a beer delivery service is the pièce de résistance.
 
Located in the Arboretum Shopping Center in South Charlotte, Vintner Wine Market specializes in fine wine, craft beer and locally sourced, seasonally inspired menu items. It features 16 beers on tap, more than 400 bottles and cans, and more than 1,500 wines.
