The Charlotte region’s brewery scene is overflowing, to say the least. There are currently 38 breweries in the 16 counties that fall within the Charlotte region alone and nearly two dozen more on the way.
With great breweries come great beers. And with March and April come what we in North Carolina like to call “bracket season” and North Carolina Beer Month. The opportunity to combine the two was just too good to pass up.
But with so many varied offering of beers in Charlotte covering everything from seasonals to sours, is there ever really a way to compare them all? The answer is no, not even close. But we were able to pull together some of Charlotte’s well-known beers as well as a few Cinderella picks into four bracket divisions: Hoppy, Malt/Roast, Crisp, Funky/Fruity. The order of the seeding was randomly generated.
Each week, we invite you to vote for your favorites as we whittle down a field of 32 craft beers to just one. The last beer standing will be crowned the CLT Clash of the Crafts champion.
