The Pixies

Ovens Auditorium

After nearly 40 sold-out shows on three continents since Fall 2009, the Pixies are extending the 20th anniversary celebration of the band’s classic 1989 album, Doolittle to cities in the U.S. The Doolittle tour which launched in Dublin, Ireland in 2009 has received five-star reviews in the London Times, the Guardian and the Independent.

The Boston-formed Pixies have been acclaimed as the most influential pioneering band of the late ‘80s alt/rock movement. Their five studio releases and six original years together effectively blazed the path for groups like Nirvana, Radiohead, and Pearl Jam to rise to superstardom. After disbanding in 1993 they launched their reunion tour in April 2004 when virtually every single date sold-out within minutes. Back again for the 20th anniversary, the tour promises an elaborate and imaginative cinematic production. With an over-the-top light show and 11 films created especially for the production, there will be compilations of hauntingly beautiful imagery and engaging animations.
