Meineke Car Care Centers Extends Title Sponsorship of Charlotte Bowl Game

The Meineke Car Care Bowl today announced the extension of Charlotte-based Meineke Car Care Centers as title sponsor of the bowl for two years. Meineke, a leading supplier of automotive services, has been the title sponsor of the Meineke Car Care Bowl the past three years. The game is certified to and operated by Raycom Sports. Per Raycom policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

The Meineke Car Care Bowl takes place at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. It features a matchup of the #3 selection from the Big East Conference against the #6 pick from the Atlantic Coast Conference. This past December, Wake Forest defeated Connecticut, 24-10. The game, consistently garners high ratings on ESPN and this year reached the largest television audience in bowl history as over 3.6 million households tuned in.

Over the past six years, the Meineke Car Care Bowl has averaged over 62,000 fans, with two sellouts. The game has reached over 13.5 million total households. In 2003, the Meineke Car Care Bowl was named one of the five-best start-ups in sports over the past five years by the Sports Business Journal, behind only the NFL Houston Texans and ESPN the Magazine.
