Medicinal Remedies Home School Day May 12th (10am-2pm)This home school day is centered around the theme of primitive medicinal remedies and how folks during the 18th century would have practiced medicine. Homeschoolers will learn of common ailments and traditional ways of healing. In many cases these were seemingly bazaar methods! Students will visit the Latta garden to see herbs and plants used to make medication. Children will also see the active honeybee hive and learn of bee pollination and the importance honey had in healing. As always, the Latta house, cabins, farm animals and exhibit hall is available for viewing. Please pack a picnic to enjoy at any of the parks designated picnicking areas. Admission: $6 Per-person, Children 4 and under are FREE.
