South Park

Located approximately six miles south of Uptown, South Park has become one of Charlotte’s largest and most popular neighborhoods for business, shopping, dining and entertainment all surrounded by beautiful residential areas.
Considered one of the most desirable locations in South Charlotte, the South Park neighborhood grew up around SouthPark Mall, an upscale shopping center that was built in the late 1960s and opened in 1970. From shopping and dining to where to play and then rest your head, here are a few ways to discover all that South Park has to offer.

Where to Eat
Upstream turns the day’s freshest catch into delicious Pacific Rim cuisine, while AZN Azian Cuisine, Sushi Guru, Baku and The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar serve up sushi with a twist. Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen puts a southern spin on Spanish, French and Italian dishes, and Zebra Restaurant & Wine Bar and Georges Brasserie will take your taste buds on a culinary excursion through Paris. Craving something rich and hearty? Try the meatballs at Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant. Go south of the border with the chickachicka boom-boom at Chuy’s or taste the flavors of authentic Tex-Mex cuisine at Paco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar. For classic cuisine, experience a juicy steak at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, gourmet pizza at Wolfgang Puck’s Pizza Bar, or barbecue and burgers at Harper’s Restaurant. And don’t miss the red velvet waffles and s’mores French toast at Terrace Café for brunch!

Where to Shop
Peruse style by the mile at SouthPark Mall’s anchor stores including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Dillard’s and Belk. Beyond the mall, boutiques and shops at Morrison, Phillips Place and the Village of South Park offer sophisticated treasures. At Morrison, be sure to explore Capitol, ChezElle and Scout & Molly’s for the newest designer trends. Located in the luxury shopping center Phillips Place, LUNA offers designer dresses and hip accessories while Orvis keeps it casual and outdoorsy. And at the Village of South Park, don’t miss Crate&Barrel for home accessories or head to Paul Simon and Sedona Boutique for great gift ideas. Other shopping areas in South Park include Sharon Corners, Morrocroft Village and Specialty Shops on the Park.

Where to Play
Catch a movie at Regal Phillips Place Stadium 10, a concert at Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall or live music at Dean & DeLuca Wine Room. Home to the Charlotte Symphony Summer Pops series, Symphony Park is also the location of a variety of festivals, concerts and outdoor events year-round. Join in on the Tree Lighting Celebration here with Santa and friends on Nov. 21. Want to catch even more holiday spirit? Also happening that day nearby is the Piedmont Town Center Annual Tree Lighting. Or for a fun night out with friends or a different activity for date night, take a cooking class at Salud! Cooking School at Whole Foods or enjoy wine and painting at Painting with a Twist.
