Visit Charlotte, the sales arm of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, is pleased to announce the addition of a new National Sales Manager, Ned Blair. Coming to Charlotte from the Delaware Tourism Office, where he served as the Tourism Development Leader for Meetings and Conventions, Blair will utilize his extensive experience in the Washington, D.C., association market to sell Charlotte as a meetings destination. Visit Charlotte is committed to keeping increased visibility and cultivating key relationships in D.C., a vital market with a large concentration of meeting professionals who select event sites domestically and internationally.
Through his work for the State of Delaware, convention and visitors bureaus and hotels, Blair has made valuable contacts in the Northern Midwest. Prior to joining the Delaware Tourism Office, he held sales and marketing positions at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina; Dover Downs Hotel & Casino; Kent County Delaware CVB; and more. He is active in Meeting Planners International (MPI), American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), American Bus Association, Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) and Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
“Ned has a capable mix of meetings, hotel and sales experience that will serve him well in promoting the Charlotte region,” said Bill McMillan, Visit Charlotte Senior Director of Sales. “We look forward to the hospitality industry background he will bring to this position in addition to his Washington, D.C. association market expertise.”
Blair graduated from Ferrum College in Virginia and begins work with Visit Charlotte on April 2.
