Position to Oversee Group Tour Operators, Motorcoaches, and More Heading to the Region
Visit Charlotte is pleased to welcome a new Group Tour Sales Manager, Stephanie Grocki, to the ranks, responsible for promoting the Charlotte region as a destination for group leisure travel and developing and packaging new and existing products to group tour organizations. The position seeks to attract group travel business from existing and emerging markets, ultimately driving revenue into the hotels, attractions, events, and amenities that fuel the tourism and hospitality industry’s economic impact for the region.
Group travel leaves a huge imprint on the Charlotte economy. A one-day visit made by a motorcoach group can leave more than $4,500 in a destination’s economy and an overnight visit more than $11,000. Grocki will work to promote Charlotte’s variety of group offerings to this impactful source of revenue generation – a diverse line-up encompassing group-friendly destinations that range from the NASCAR Hall of Fame to Carowinds to the U.S. National Whitewater Center.
Grocki brings a wealth of experience from her previous group sales position at NC Blumenthal Performing Arts Center where she promoted packages, incentives, and popular offerings ranging from Broadway’s brightest blockbusters to major musical and comedy headliners. An active member of the Charlotte community, Grocki is an active participant in the Junior League of Charlotte.
“Stephanie has proven to be a phenomenal group tour asset for Visit Charlotte even before joining the team here. Her previous group sales experience at Blumenthal and now her dedication to increasing group travel to our region will make her a resource that tour operators can rely on again and again,” says Visit Charlotte Executive Director Mike Butts.
