ABOUT THE ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE (ACC)

Established in 1953, the ACC has long enjoyed the reputation as one of the strongest and most competitive intercollegiate conferences in the nation. And that is not mere conjecture, the numbers support it. Through its first 65 years of competition, ACC schools captured 154 NCAA team championships, including 76 in men’s sports, 76 in women’s competition and two in fencing. In addition, NCAA individual titles went to ACC student-athletes 180 times in men’s competition and 137 times in women’s action.

ABOUT SPECTRUM CENTER

Also known as “The Hive,” Spectrum Center, in addition to hosting numerous largescale concerts and events, is home to Michael Jordan-owned NBA team the Charlotte Hornets. Equipped with large center-hung scoreboards, multiple auxiliary boards and the largest underbelly screens in the NBA, the arena offers fans, no matter where they’re sitting, unparalleled views of on-court action. Located at 333 E. Trade Street, Spectrum’s placement in the heart of Uptown keeps fans close to off-court action, too. The venue is only a 10-minute walk from the Charlotte Convention Center and right next to Charlotte Transportation Center, where the city’s LYNX Blue Line light rail stops. This gives arena-goers easy, car-free access to a wealth of dining and attractions options in and around Center City.
