The city is becoming a cultural hub for diverse dancing styles bringing in large crowds who want to join in on the action. Grab your friends and dance the night away at these Queen City hot spots.
“We Be Burnin’” Up the Dance Floor
Find it: 3018 The Plaza Road
Hours: Fridays and Saturdays, 10 p.m.-4:30 a.m.
If you’re looking for reggae, make sure to head to this Plaza Midwood hangout — it was voted one of Charlotte’s go-to spots for soca dancing. Get ready to party all night long; this nightlife venue is open after 2 a.m.

If you love the sounds of Afrobeat (a combination of West African musical styles with American funk and jazz influences), check out one of Charlotte’s hidden gems: Bakadi Lounge. The “Suite” Life

If you want to party in a chic and upscale environment, this nightlife hub is right where you need to be. Known for its “social sophistication,” this swanky spot inside the Epicentre has the atmosphere and amenities that you would expect from world-class nightclubs.
“Get Down on It” at Lynn’s

Do you know how to do the Carolina Shag? Whether you’re a novice or professional, Lynn’s Dance Club is home to “The Charlotte Shag Club,” which celebrated 35 years this past year. Besides having a large dance floor and full service bar, the private dance club also has nights dedicated to the Argentine tango, West Coast swing and more.

At World Nightclub, there’s never a dull moment. Dance the night away to electronic dance music (EDM), hip-hop and pop hits from internationally-renowned DJs or jam out to music legends like Cardi B, who made her appearance just last year. The nightclub also hosts special events including corporate parties for up to 1,000 people, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs and more.

Scorpio has been a staple in the Charlotte community for more than 50 years. As one of the most popular LGBTQ dance clubs in the city, people from all around the region come to have a great time in a worry-free environment. The drag and modeling runway shows are always the highlight of the night.
Time Machine Madness

If you love the sweet sounds of the ‘80s and ‘90s, Roxbury will be your new favorite stomping grounds. The nightclub has two levels, walls filled with retro memorabilia and a large patio to dance the night away. Don’t forget to also check out the vintage game room, which will take you back to the days when Pac-Man and Galaga ruled the video game industry.
