Brixx Wood Fired Pizza
Stopped in today on my lunch break. There was only one additional guest at the bar...VERY SLOW SERVICE...during lunch. Bartender Daniel was all over the place.....Everywhere, EXCEPT BEHIND THE BAR. taking tables outside on the patio, in the restaurant, to go orders and running food. Now, I understand Togo and food running may be a part of his responsibility, but make sure your guests are not in need of anything before you take off, especially if they have not placed their order yet. I asked to place my order, and I was asked to wait as he needed to take drinks outside.....but he never came back. He began running food, as I still waited (on my lunch break). Finally, I flagged the manager down and asked him to take my order, which he did. Needless to say, I was not able to eat there, I had to take it to go. I was late getting back to work, and my pizza was cold and dry. A wasted lunch break and money.
Kelly, our server was a pro! She took such good care of us, that we didn't need to even ask for anything (like water, refills, etc). We loved the specials available the hour before closing. The pizzas were hot and delicious. The thai pizza is so yummy! The drinks were good. My husband had Bloody Mary and I had a Screwdriver) and they were specials, too! Very affordable and a great value. Wonderful experience. We'll be back!! Thank you!
What a disappointment. I took my staff to Brixx Uptown, bragging about the food and the service ahead of time. We blocked time for an extended lunch to do something different. We took a first time ride for all of them, on the Blue Line extension to gain that experience. Arrived at Brixx at 11:09 am and we were seated promptly. Drink orders were taken almost immediately and it went downhill from there. It took another 15 minutes to get our drinks, 30 minutes to get the appetizers, and we NEVER got our lunch orders until I requested that what ever might be ready, they should prepare it to go. We had a 12:27 train to catch back to the office to greet our next patients. It was already 12:17 and no one had food, not even those that just ordered salad entrees! When we first arrived, the restaurant was virtually empty, maybe only 5 or 6 people present at most. After we were seated and had ordered, others came in and received their food while we continued to wait!
The food is always good. Today the food was very slow and the manager came and handed out free pizza or appetizer coupons for each person even though none of us complained. Great customer service.
Great affordable pizza place downtown. They do vegan options. Just ask for vegan cheese on your pizza and they swap it out for free. Had the hummus plate and the artichoke pizza which I would recommend.
