Carolina Ale House
Deceptively Bad. Looked great from the street, but once inside, things became apparent. It started out with two hosts that couldn't figure out how to open an umbrella. We were eventually seated without menus. We eventually got them, 15 min later. Waited another 10 min to order food, and got that about 15 min later. Food was awful. I had better food at Camden Yards. They were out of the next three beers I ordered, and eventually brought me a warm ale, which they comped. I would avoid The Carolina Ale House.
We were visiting Charlotte for the Belk Bowl. Lucky me got to go twice to the Carolina Ale House. The flat bread chicken was my first choice. The second time I had the bacon & pimento cheese burger. My friend's had the Blue Cheese burger and I believe the Pub burger. All great choices. Another friend had the salmon. She said it was cooked to perfection! Awesome place all the servers very personable! Enjoyed talking with each. Everyone was very friendly and helpful in our meal choosing. Don't be afraid of the pimento cheese. Had to try it it it seems to be a regional favorite as we saw it on all the menus. It was something we don't see in Texas.
Absolute worst dining experience ever! The waitress couldnt be bothered for drink refills - we felt like we were begging. Food was brought out missing sides - the manager had to bring us silverware and steak knives. Every time we had to ask her for something she always said the manager would get it. My food was cold and after the second attempt I gave up and skipped dinner. The manager was indifferent to all our issues and just took the food off our tab. He wouldnt even come back over to speak to us! No apologies- nothing! My husband and I left without eating. Food was okay for the rest of the group but service was absolutely horrendous!
Went here before Panthers game. Great place to go for the game. I'm not a tailgater so finding decent place to eat without getting killed in the wallet. That's for the stadium. Hostess, waitstaff and bar tenders super. Food even though bar food spot on and tasty. Merry Christmas to the staff for a great job done.
Visited Carolina Ale House recently only to find no taps working and my choice of primary and secondary bottle beers on their list out of stock! - Upon arriving there was a sign indicating that ALL taps were non-operational (bit of a disappointment - but these things happen). I ordered a New Castle Brown from their menu but was informed they had no stock. I went with my backup of a Yuengling but was also told - no stock available. So 0 for 3 and decided to go somewhere else. Note to management: - invest in reliable tap system and if it fails - offer your customers some value if they are forced to go with an option not of their choice (as-in - perhaps a discount on cocktails?)
