Great place for breakfast/brunch. It was not busy when we came on a Saturday morning at 8:30. They are in the heart of South End on the light rail. For first timers, you grab a table on your own, grab a menu at the front, then order at the counter when ready. They'll bring out the food. Lots of seating inside and out with some shade covers. Dogs are allowed on the patio and I saw at least one with a dog bowl with water provided. We got salmon lox toast, avocado toast, and a grilled chicken avocado melt. The food was tasty but a bit on the salty side. I would have liked a bit more avocado. Ask for water when you order to get a carafe with cups. Loved the decor - very clean, open, and relaxing. I saw that they have a craft cocktail menu which seems promising.

Eight + Sand Kitchen was a nice little caf experience with a bar. The food was delectable. Good position sizes for the price. However, the service to order food and beverages was a bit slow with only one register. The line constantly reached the door or was wrapped around. You have to order prior to sitting down but once ordered food and drinks come quickly. I love that they do offer several vegan and vegetarian items. The craft containers make it extremely hard to pour your drink without spilling it everywhere. If you're in the area; check this place out.

We had a great experience at Eight + Sand Kitchen. It's a nice, clean place with great coffee and food. You should stop by and judge for yourself. 1. Parking. There are a few parks along the street directly in front of the restaurant. If you aren't lucky enough to find a park here, the next best option is the parking deck located slightly behind and around the corner from the restaurant. It is a very short walk. Be sure not to park in the lot directly across the street. That lot is for banking customers and they have signs indicating that they'll have you towed. If all else fails the New Bern Station stop on the light rail is directly outside of the restaurant. 2. Dining room is bright and open. The space is clean and has very high ceilings. It looks like the big garage doors on the side can be open to make the dining room function as indoor/outdoor space. There's also a nice patio outside. 3. There are 2 bathrooms located at the back of the restaurant. They are clean and provide some privacy as they are not shared restrooms. 4. When you arrive, you place your order at the register up front and then you seat yourself. 5. The food is delicious. They brought our food out really quickly and the presentation was also nice. I will definitely be back to try more menu items. I didn't try any of the baked goods but they looked and smelled amazing.

Came in for breakfast. Had egg + arugula sandwich, it was good with a little bit of spice, potatoes were crispy and tasty but were too big, probably would work better if they are cut into smaller pieces. The regular croissant is probably one of the best ones I have tried in Charlotte, but the twice baked croissant not so much. On the bad side, the tables were sticky and I had to clean mine myself. Be ready to wait for your drinks because they take longer than the food.

My biscuits and gravy bowl was great! Excellent value for money and portions. Coffee is a little above average, nice touch with the froth art . Love the spices that they used in the dishes. Trendy modern atmosphere. Nice and friendly staff. This is definitely a place I'll be returning to try more of the menu. May change this to a five star review in the future. It was very close.
