Lumiere French Kitchen
This is one of Charlotte's hidden jewels. The food is always fabulous, the wait staff is attentive yet not hovering, and the wine selections are amazing. The prices are a little higher than some fine dining restaurants but what I deem justified for the overall experience.
I had a wonderful evening here. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Each course was paced quite well, my glass was never empty, and I felt genuine concern for my well-being and experience. I started with their Country French Herb Garden, enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Duck a l'Orange cooked exactly as requested, and finished the experience off with the most magnificent black cherry creme brulee. I couldn't be happier with my evening!
Love Lumiere. Been here several times. The food is delicious. I wish the service would also be as good as the food.
I went here during restaurant week and thought the food was pretty good. I got the duck as my main course and it was cooked well with very good flavor. For dessert I got the rum cake, which I would not recommend. It tasted like I was drinking rum. The only way I could even eat it was pressing on it with a spoon to squeeze out most of the rum. The service was ok - they gave us dirty looks for opening birthday presents while we were there.
Our server Lisa was phenomenal! We ordered the shrimp bouillabaisse, and French garden for appetizers. For the entree we had Angus Prime, Pork Loin and for dessert vanilla ice cream and profiteroles and the cheese plate. Every course was impressive and very satisfying. Great service, food and atmosphere.
