With its signature $25 steak and bottomless truffle fries meal, The Dunavant has bucked the notion a quality steak dinner should cost a lot. Their signature steak dinner deal featuring bottomless fries and either soup or salad has made the steak dinner approachable and affordable.

The Dunavant has been on my list to visit for a few years so I was excited when we made a reservation with a few friends last night. They were able to seat us ahead of our reservation time which was great. It took awhile to get drinks but our server looked busy and was very nice so we tried to remain patient. The restaurant itself was not busy but no other servers or the manager seemed to be assisting her other than the food runners. Unfortunately when our steaks came out they were all cold and 2 overcooked/2 undercooked (all requested medium rare) but we were not checked on for awhile so the other people in my reservation ate their steak. I did not eat another bite once I tasted how cold it was. We then did not receive one of the sides and had to ask for it multiple times for it to finally come. After we finally tracked down a manager all she had to offer was sorry. After I asked for the owners name she then offered us a desert. You can read my previous reviews and see I have never left a negative review. As someone who was in the service industry for 9 years I try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt but this was a miss at all levels. Many things at a restaurant are out of staff/management control but to not offer a solution is unacceptable, the manager could not have been less interested in rectifying the situation. Looking at other reviews these seems like a recent pattern. I hope the Dunavant is able to resolve these issues so they can continue to operate but I will personally not be going back.
We never leave a review, but I hope this will help them to improve on there meals. We had a dinner reservation for 6:30 last night. Enjoyed the atmosphere and we had a very nice and polite server, so this is no reflection on her. All 4 of our meals we absolutely awful. We all ordered the steak with soup as our starter. It had zero taste, the steak was so tough we couldnt cut it , much less chew it. The fries were cold, hard and nothing but crumbs. You would expect when you spent $100 plus you would have a great meal, but Im sorry to say it wasnt worth it.
Went here for a special occasion, and had an amazing time! All of the food is top notch, plated well, and very rich. The unlimited truffle fries is an amazing twist on finer dining that I think more places should try! On top of that, the wait staff could not be more friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend for a special occasion!
This restaurant is amazing. It is hands down the best restaurant in South End. The food is quality and the drinks are stiff. The prices are perfect. I have eaten at Link and Pin, the food was bland and the drinks were so weak and overpriced we wish we just went back here. The staff is always so nice here. The octopus and lobster is perfectly cooked. The sauce options are decadent. I am not a brunch person but I am certain theres is amazing. You need to eat here.
Best place ever!!! Great food, great service, staff were very friendly and accommodating. We loved the chicken and funnel cake, shrimp and grits & mimosas!! Definitely will be back again :)
