My experience was so unsafe that I left and relocated at 10pm. Unfortunately this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. In reading others' reviews, I see that the scam that I suspected has also happened to many others. I have reported this officially to booking dot com since I made the reservation through that platform, to protect others from the experience that I had. I was charged for things I did not do or get. Customer service was unkind, and I lost my money and had to relocate at 10pm at night. While traveling on business in the Virginia/North Carolina area, I booked a room with this establishment using booking dot com, an hour and a half before arriving. I am a woman and was traveling solo for work. Upon arrival I saw men coming in and out of the trees next to the hotel, loitering in the hotel's parking lot, and even walking in and out of the hotel entrance - I felt immediately uneasy and also realized how far it was from the airport (I was flying out at 5am the next day). The receptionist was in a locked room, and told me I could not cancel my last minute reservation despite there being plenty of rooms available, and that I would be charged in full. He also indicated that it was the closest hotel to the airport (which was untrue - it is 12 miles away), and that my credit card had already been charged (found out later it had not been charged until the next day). So I was stuck staying. I was given the wrong directions to my room, which opens to the outside (where the men were loitering and hollering at me). I showered, and went to cross the road to get dinner, and in doing so found that MY DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK (and had not been locked while showering). Literally, one could simply push it open. I called the receptionist and was met with unkind stubbornness - he insisted the door locked (it did not). At this point, I had had enough and the entire situation felt unsafe. I packed my things and and told him I was staying somewhere else (it was 10pm!) and I requested a refund. He refused, and when I asked to speak to the manager, he called his manager but would not allow me to speak with him, and the receptionist lied in front of me about the whole situation. I was so frustrated and felt so unsafe that I walked out, and paid twice, for another hotel 3 miles from the airport. I now have called back every day for three days to retrieve my glasses (which they still will not send me) and to speak to the manager about a refund given my experience, that I had tried to cancel, and since I did not stay. They then accused me of smoking in the room and having a pet, and threatened an additional $150 charge (I do not smoke, and I was traveling on business - obviously with no pet). Then they hung up on me.
Simple room with a comfortable bed. Some of these reviews seemed they were expecting alot. Never made the continental breakfast seemed I kept missing that. This is your average road side motel. They weren't any unscrupulous characters wandering about on the property, my bed was made by the staff and clean towels replaced each day. Idk I guess results may vary but I have no complaints other than none of the HBO channels worked.
Friendly staff. Decent for the price. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.
A good place to stop and rest, had a nice king size handicap room would write about four stars, the person that check me in at night was very polite and cordial would recommend great price.
Bathrooms are really clean. That's how it should be done. Busy area with all the bus traffic but the location is convenient for different restaurants.
