The building is nice a new. I haven't spent a whole lot of time in my room yet. They offer free food and drinks Monday thru Friday which is a nice way wind down after work. Some coworker have run into problems with hot water and heat. It is taking them a bit of time to fix it but they are trying. The neighborhood is up and coming so currently there isn't a lot to that is close. If you're looking for something out of town I would suggest this location.
The visit so far has been lovely. The room is spacious, with quiet neighbors. The staff has been friendly and helpful.
As with new hotels, Fairfield has a nice modern design throughout the hotel. Everything was great until the day I was set to check out. Even with a "do not disturb" tag on the door, I received a knock on the door from hotel services around 9:30am. I rushed to the door partially clothed thinking something must be wrong. When I opened the door I was asked when I am going to check out. I was confused and asked if I had missed checkout. I was then told to call the front desk or she would be back knocking on my door. So, I proceed to call the front desk and was then was informed that the checkout time was 11:00am. When I asked about the employee at my door she acted like it was normal occurrence. I have never experienced this at any other hotel and it really left me with a negative opinion of staying here again.
For the price, this hotel is a solid choice right outside of downtown Charlotte. Very clean, pleasant staff and has a nice lobby to work or relax. If you are traveling for business and need a good night's rest, this Fairfield Inn is a great option.
Clean and well appointed rooms. There's a good hot breakfast with options like grits, eggs, pancakes, and the usual continental fare as well. No hot tub or bar on site though. There was an outdoor pool and a small fitness center.
