This was a wonderful hotel to stay. My husband and I stayed here for the Liverpool FC soccer Match in Charlotte July 2018. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. The breakfast was really tasty and plentiful. The staff was very friendly as well. The rooms were nice and clean. The shower was hot and had great pressure. The furniture was comfortable. We will definitely stay here again if we have to stay in Charlotte.
We only stayed for one night. It was convenient for commuting to Carowinds less than 10 minutes away. My kids loved the pool. Breakfast was good and free. Rooms were well maintained and clean. We didn't see or interact with staff, but everyone looked friendly.
A slightly older Hotel surrounded by large trees. Conveniently located off of I-77. Lobby and rooms including furniture and carpets show some wear, but well-maintained. A nice stay for the cost. A free breakfast is included but pretty bland if you want more than just coffee and a waffle.
Did not have a pleasant stay here. The King bed feels extremely firm and the pillows are too soft which caused me to have a neck ache the next morning. Did not sleep well at all and kept waking up most of the night because I could not find a comfortable spot. I wanted to hit the swimming pool due to the summer heat but they had it closed off and locked out because it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Went back for a second try at a later date after the reception clerk told me that they were working on it, and that is should be clean. The pool was still green and dirty. I checked out, and went to another hotel.
My mother and sister stay at this Hampton every time they travel to West Virginia from FL because they have always really liked the hotel and have never had an issue that the staff hasn't fixed almost immediately. On July 14, 2018 they checked in with no problems at all. They even recognized the girl working as checking them into the hotel on different trips. However, when they were ready to check out, the woman working the morning shift turned them completely around to think they may not stay in this location anymore. She was extremely rude to both my sister and mother. Then, when asked if my mother could talk to the manager, she was told managers don't work weekends, which made her ask if the desk agent could call him. She was told no, not offered a way to his VM or his email. She ran my sisters card 3 times and then completely messed up the payments and blamed everyone she could think of, but took no blame of just making a mistake. It's terrible that one staff member has made such a horrible impression on my family that they are talking about staying at other hotels. All of us are HHonors members, due to the fact that I was very recently an employee of Hampton Inn. I'm well aware of the procedures in a situation and had my family get in touch with the correct people. After the help line calling the same front desk agent and asking about the situation, he became quite short with my mother and only said that she should have an email in the next 72 hours to let her know what's going on. I have apologized to my family for having to deal with this woman and asked for the receipt of their stay, only to be told she said she couldn't print them off one because of something to do with the system. If this is the type of employees my 79 year old mother has to deal with, she has said she will stop staying at any Hilton property.
