Clean rooms, great view, friendly staff. VERY quiet. Endless hot water. Room access readers, or the cards themselves, have big issues functioning correctly, so it's good that the staff is so nice, since you will get to know them well while getting cards reset. Breakfast was phenomenal, do not miss it!
We reserved this hotel because of location, as we were there for a concert at the spectrum center. We didn't arrive until around 5:00, thinking this being a up scale hotel check in would be a breeze, boy were we wrong! There were people that had been there for 3 hours still waiting for a room, reason was due to not enough cleaning staff. You would think a hotel of this statue would be better than this! All the ladies going to the concert ended up getting dressed in the hotel restroom in order to arrive on time. Some of us didn't get a room until after the concert was over which was around 11:30ish. Will I recommend this hotel certainly not or at least not until they have better management! The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the rooms are nice once you finally get in one!! Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel!
2 stars for friendly and professional employees only...We requested early check in online, granted we are aware this is not always possible. However we arrived at 2:30, regular check in per website and emails state that check in was at 3:00. We were told check in was at 3:00 as the rooms were not ready yet. The check in desk employee took our name down and told us she would call us over when our room was ready. The lobby began to fill with others who were told the same. I would say about 50 people were waiting well after 3:00 for their rooms. I went back up to the check in desk about 3:30 to make sure we were not forgotten, yet again still no rooms ready. Let me state that there is a definite need for Better staffing as all of the people that were waiting for their room took advantage of the bar but the same 2 employees at check in were the same 2 that had to run the bar. After I noticed every now and then someone would get a room, which were people that arrived after us; i yet again went to the desk and explained that at this point we had waited over an hour and could someone check on our room. At that time one was available and we were quickly given our keys. In all of the chaos the employees were friendly and apologized for the wait. As we were rushing to our dinner plans there were people on the elevator that still had not been given a room hours later! For as much as we paid for 1 night stay at a top rated establishment I would expect not to have to wait and go through the chaos that Occurred. At check out though not as long as a wait, still the same employees working the desk were working the bar!
Clean and large rooms with views of Uptown Charlotte. Bathrooms have plenty of room. The "cafe" area is a great touch. You can get drinks both alcohol and non. Nice snacks and even quick bites. Rooms were quite, bed very comfortable and maybe silly but the multiple blinds allow partial blockage and total blockage of any and all light. Small issue was handled in a very satisfactory way. You are pretty much forced to use the in house valet but the simple fact it not outrageous and you have unlimited in and outs. The nice thing is that they give you a number to text so that you can have your car brought around before you get downstairs. Close to basically everything. Hyatt House is a little closer than Hyatt Place and had a better roof top pool. Hyatt Place does have Fahrenheit 51 that has great, albeit rather pricey food and drinks plus incredible view.
Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown is a really nice hotel. My room was spacious and comfortable. The rooftop bar/restaurant is fantastic. It's about two blocks from the Wells Fargo & BB&T buildings.
