First Ward Park

The park is beautiful and has a lot of different areas to explore however the play structure is geared more towards older children I would say maybe five and up. I wish they had a play structure for little kids but there is a lovely lawn area fountain walkways benches trees and gardens. It's walking distance from optimist Hall where you can grab a bite to eat or something to drink and it's also right across from the children's library.
I went for the Women's March on October 2. Three generations of women fighting for our rights. We were part of a huge, peaceful crowd of women, men, and children. The part is downtown in Charlotte NC and is surrounded by some really beautiful skyscrapers. The park was clean, had facilities, benches, and shade trees. You can leave the park and investigate downtown. We discovered a local food court and had a delicious, local cheeseboard. Parking was easy too!
It is right in front of the light rail. Very peaceful and doesn't have people loitering around like other parks. There is a waterspout in the center. Very beautiful. There's an area for children, plenty of open fields to play and walk with your dogs, tons of greenery. Very peaceful park.
First ward park is gorgeous.. perfect for a picnic or to lwt the kids play. Safe clean and a beautiful view of downtown!
This is a really nice park in downtown Charlotte. There were lots of families there. There is spraying water where you can get wet on hot days. The kids seemed ro really be enjoying themselves. There were benches and other activities. It is well landscaped and well taken care of. A very beautiful park. Check it out if you've never been.
