Best food experience we have had in a while. We were early for our reservation. Our future waitress, Ashley, introduced herself and kept us updated on the status of our table and took our cocktail orders. Creative and engaging cocktail staff, the most flavorful gnocchi, pork shank with perfectly done grits, veal parmesan on the bone. Ashley was terrific. After an 8.5 hour drive we picked the perfect place to stop.

Highly recommend this place! Dined here almost 4 months ago and keep meaning to go back. Food was delicious but the highlight of the evening was sitting at the bar and watching the bartender work his magic! We gave him free reign to create "mystery" drinks and it was so worth it. Tasty and beautifully served in vintage "glasses" (see pics). Lovely outdoor seating with fire pits too.

Absolutely delightful! Great atmosphere with wonderful cocktails. The calamari was truly delicious, as well as the sea bass. The waitstaff are inviting, the bartenders are entertaining and I will definitely be back!

We have been wanting to go to Barrel and Fork for a long time now. However, we just went there for our first time. We chose this place to celebrate our Anniversary. We had made reservations to sit at a table, however when we walked into the restaurant we saw friends sitting at the bar. They called us to sit with them, and Erick, the GM, and also the server that they had assigned for our reservation, were so gracious to let us sit at the bar. We had the best restaurant experience in Cornelius. It really felt like something you find in Greenwich Village; everything about it: the old house, the ambiance, the class mixed with hipster, the service, the music, the drinks, the food, etc. Yes, the place is pricey, but it is worth every penny! Or at least, that was the experience we had the night we went there. As we arrived they had complimentary champagne waiting for us, great touch! We continued with plenty of small dishes and each one of them was wonderful. Unbeknownst to us they brought us a complimentary dessert: cheesecake with homemade plums in syrup. It was delicious. The top layer of the cheesecake was like the caramelized layer in crme brle. The plums in syrup were tasty yet not too sweet. Just well made and a good combination!!! Now, lets talk about the drinks: that is the experience; innovative, well balanced flavors, delicious, and fun! The bartender was the attraction of the night: her personality is so big; she immediately reads what you like and prepares the drinks accordingly. I could go on and on talking about our experience at Barrel and Fork, but I better post the photos to speak for themselves. We feel fortunate to have a place like this in Cornelius!!!!!

Let's face it, there are certain people in my group of friends, when they tell me they love a restaurant I have to go. We make a plan immediately. It is good to have friends that you always trust their judgement. Barrel and Fork was right on the money from beginning to end. Our server was amazing, I could tell how in tune he was, by not wasting any time with a family beside us and giving us the perfect amount of time before we even ordered. So great service already puts you at ease. Then with course after course, everything was fresh, prepared and executed well. Never during the whole meal, did I think any course took too long and never felt rushed. It was one of the best evenings I have had in Charlotte area. Most times when I visit high end restuarants, I'm not ready to go back immediately, but I plan on many visits to Barrel and Fork, especially with warm weather around the corner with their amazing patio.
