I love this little shop, from the homemade, local ice cream to the aesthetic. I will say that its on the pricier side, but its very filling for the portion you receive and truly high quality ice cream (watch out Ben & Jerrys!). I do wish that they had some covered seating since it rained today, but eating ice cream in car was perfectly fine as well. My mom and I had the blondie flavor, and we were blown away. We would definitely stop if we were to be in Matthews again.

Some of the best ice cream I have ever had! They offer both dairy and non-dairy flavors. I tried the non-dairy mint chocolate chip which was absolutely delicious. It was light, refreshing, had the right amount of sweetness and even had real mint leaves in it! I've never seen that before in a mint chocolate chip ice cream. I also had the non-dairy cookie butter which was superb as well. It tastes like Biscoff cookie spread. If you're in the area and in search of a good place to get ice cream, look no further!

Delicious ice cream, didnt even know this was here! The peanut butter cup is some of the best ice cream I have ever had. Friendly staff, perfect for a summer evening and its nice that its open late.

This was some of the best ice cream I've ever had! Seems many of the ingredients are locally sourced which I like to support, and it shows in the taste. My wife got birthday cake and I got strawberry dream, highly recommend both. The staff are friendly and welcoming :)

Awesome ice cream spot! Customer service was great and the ice cream was amazing! We will be back! Birthday cake was delish. The brown sugar and cinnamon though was the winner. Definitely come by! Cool area to hang out at too.

This new location for local scoop is very cool and convenient. Right behind Carolina Beer Temple and they have a seating area outside which is nice. The turf gives it a nice vibe to it as well. Where they originally were in Matthews was kinda tough to get to in that shopping center but this new location is a lot better on my opinion. Ice cream was great and good customer service. We will definitely be back again.

Who doesn't like ice cream??...I mean lactose intolerant people probably...and maybe those that had a traumatic event involving ice cream. But most people should like ice cream and those that don't can go suck a sno cone! Great place to have a scoop or two. All outdoor seating.

Great addition to downtown Matthews with plenty of flavor choices, a few toppings and a handful of tables behind Moe's original bbq. We got the kiddie cup of cookie monster with gummies worms and the single scoop of dutch chocolate. Great taste and just the right amount.

We were big time Brusters fans, the line was crazy long tonight so decided to try The Local Scoop. SO GLAD we did! I had the Peanut Butter Cup, my new favorite flavor. Wife had the strawberry sorbet and loved it, son had the Birthday Cake and actually complained that the 1 scoop size was too big. We will be going there as our top choice from now on
