loved it. Visited again in 2022. Had a lovely time. As with any science museum you will find many hands on exhibits that are amazing. Several are out of commission due to breakage caused by overzealous kid scientists. Lots of fun and interesting things. Had a feel good section that was a big bummer. Could have done something real and not fake science.
It's miserable hot in this building. I pulled my mask down to put a piece of candy in my mouth for 2 seconds and the mask police came and fussed. Said there was a snacking and drinking area down the hall and I could go there should I want something. No if I need a drink of water.... I'm gonna drink I dehydrate very easily.i respect wearing them but if I pull it down for a moment and NO ONE IS AROUND ME it shouldn't matter. Or if my family Is around me. Period. I don't know that we will be back. Its been a good year and a half since I've been here and NOTHING...NOTHING has changed. Same sand machine is still broken.... disappointed is an understatement
Overall great experience. Very friendly people, signs clearly stated where we were and had lots of information. Very clean. The male employee in the gift shop was very polite and helpful as well. I would definitely return for another visit if I come back to Charlotte.
Kids had a blast. Parking is located next across the street from the main entrance. There are three levels. The first is a museuem with an area for younger kids including a water area and a small aquarium. The second level has a bunch of interactive science equipment. The third has a maker space for crafts. It was a fun filled day with the kiddos.

I've been coming here for a long time and my kids (who range from ages 1 to 11) still find it entertaining. This was my 1st time coming with my youngest (of 6) who is 1 and he had a fantastic time. I also love the location because when we finish up we can just walk down the street to the square and take our pick of places to eat.
