I love the coasters! Fury is the best of the bunch but still a strong lineup beyond that. Excellent shows, plenty of family friendly rides, and seasonal events make. This a great place for a fun time. Get a season pass to get the most bang for your buck!
A $20 parking charge on top of the general admission is outrageous. Winter Fest was nice. Glad we had free tickets, since only about few rides were open and the lines were long. The shows were really good. Impressive actually. The park has improved a lot. Not as ghetto as it once was.
My experience was absolutely horrible!!!!!!! I spent more than $120 for admission for my family when the park is only open for 5 hours. In this 5 hours we only had time to do 4 things because the lines were so long, and to be honest no one seemed to care. We spent the 1st hour we got there waiting in line to order food, it cost me $57 for 4 tender trays with no drinks, then I was left standing for 15 more minutes waiting to get my food, I had also asked for 4 cups of water and was ignored, when I was noticed still standing after ANOTHER 20 minutes I was given 2 tiny clear cups of water and was informed they were out of cups and i would need to go to another booth for water. So now after waiting to get our food and having to share 2 small cups of water between 4 people, we decided to get in line for the first ride, where we also stood for an hour (it was the haunted house shooting ride), it was 8 pm when we finally got on. After that we went to the theater to get in line for the snoopy show, the line was so long we missed the 8:30 showing so we stayed in line for the 9:30 showing, during this time I tried to purchase a bottle of soda from the vending machine outside the theater and was informed AFTER SWIPING MY CARD that it was broken. So I went to the next booth and stood in yet another line to pay $6 for a 30 oz cup of soda and they couldn't even give me a lid or straw. So now I'm back in line for snoopy, we made it to the entrance and I was informed that I would need to discard my drink or I could stand outside and drink it at the risk of losing my place in line, so I trashed the drink I felt like I had fought for since I had entered the park (I understand there are no drinks allowed in the theater, but I could have at least been offered a place to put it until after the show). The show itself was really good and the actors were extremely talented. After the show was over we caught the very last ride of the night on the way out of the park, and this was only because there was no line because everyone had already left. So long story short, If you are going to admit a massive amount of people into a theme park that is only open for 5 hours make sure there are enough attractions and staff to handle the volume that you admit. In other words limit the amount of tickets sold or add more attractions.
Great rides for everyone in the family. Bring your own lunch (no food allowed inside so we use a cooler and leave it in the car) or be prepared to spend a ton of money for very little food. There are now 3 entrances to the park but almost always only one entrance open so you may have to walk around the whole park just to get in. The staff is 50/50 and just depends on who is operating the ride whether you will encounter a friendly or rude person.
Can't say enough about Carowinds. My daughters had SO much fun! So did I (and I'm 50)! Clean, safe, great rides, INCREDIBLE staff...just wonderful. I lost my wallet and it was found and returned by security! Saved my whole trip to NC. So nice we went back within about a month. We'll be back in the spring!
