Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
This post is brought to you in partnership with Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
Flutter over to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden for the return of Butterfly Bungalow, a seasonal favorite exhibition celebrating the magic of butterflies.
Enter a world where caterpillars, chrysalides and adult butterflies surround you. Get an up-close look at the life cycle of a butterfly, including its metamorphosis from a caterpillar. Both amazing to see and educational, butterfly specialists and garden volunteers can point out butterfly eggs, larvae, pupae and even adult butterflies emerging from their chrysalides during your visit.
These native North Carolina butterflies are housed in a 2,100-square-foot enclosure that’s designed to be the ideal environment to flourish. Learn about butterflies that live in the Southern Piedmont region, then discover how you can attract these colorful winged insects that fly around your own yard.
This exhibit is an excellent way to connect with nature and appreciate at the natural beauty that surrounds you every day.
The Butterfly Bungalow runs May 26 through Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday when Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is open. This exhibit is included with regular admission.
