Runaway Whiskey & Wine Bar

Loved Runaway Whiskey & Wine in Charlotte North Carolina. I went to streetcar a few weeks ago and was so excited to hear they were opening something in the back. I really loved the space. It was dark with a bunch of tables and they had a really great bar. I ended up ordering the RATTLE SKULL- tequila, peach, lime, maraschino and pear nectar. I really loved the drink so much. My drink of choice is a dirty martini with blue cheese olives and I saw a bunch of people ordered that and I will definitely order it next time. The food menu looked great also. Someone next to us had the salad and it looked amazing. Im absolutely going back to try other things. The service was spectacular as well. Our bartender was very attentive!! They also have outdoor seating. Cant wait to go in the summer!!

It's a really cool spot! It was such a nice place for drinks with friends or a date night. The inside is beautiful art deco, and the food is delicious. The deviled eggs are a must try. The drinks were strong and very tasty, with the Saint Charles being our tables favorite of the evening, it had a nice smokiness to it. The only thing we want to see is maybe a vegetarian dish and a gluten-free option as there were none. Our server, Jameson, was wonderful and attentive! Definitely recommend checking this spot out.

Walked in & had a corner table. Service took a bit long to get our first cocktails, & music was giving Harry Potter vibes. They ended up turning this halfway thru our service to something more "clublike". Wasn't really there for the food, but food was ehhhh. Plates were not wiped down and looked greasy. Fingerprints all over the sides & not well plated. Lots of room for improvement. Nothing stuck out like.. "THIS is what makes us different than every other dark cocktail space in charlotte".

An excellent spot for a classy date night. The art deco interior design is top-notch with an assiduous attention to detail. We especially loved the patterned tiling, sconces, and chandeliers. The on-menu cocktails were delicious, and the bartenders are more than happy to make a custom drink at your request.

The ambiance and decor are beautiful. Love the art deco vibe. The drink options were nice and the bartenders definitely knew what they were doing. My friends and I did notice the lack of a chicken option for the food menu (outside of the buffalo dip), but the chef offered an understandable explanation, so hopefully this can be rectified soon. Overall, it was a nice experience; could definitely be a cool spot for a first date or a drinks after work destination.
