Really more of a 3 1/2 stars to be fair. The beers are every bit as advertised. An awesome hazy IPA lineup. However, the food isn't. The dry rubbed wings were a bit on the cool side when I bit into it. Brew pubs are hard to do well, in most cases. Definitely go for the beers though. But make sure that you're not hungry when you go.
I brought a group this evening to Heist as part of the Charlotte Brews Cruise. I highly recommend the tour and Heist Brewery. They did such a fantastic job from planning to execution. I have been an event planner for 18 years and these guys really impressed me. The owner, Spencer is one of the best guys I've met and has been in the restaurant, bar brewery business for a long time. Heist marries his love of craft beer and great food!!
On a whim, chose to check out Heist Brewery and soon found out that it was an excellent decision. The handpicked flight that I selected was easily the best beer flight that I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. Although I did not order food, the brunch looked and sounded delicious, then the regular menu was also quite tempting. If I lived in the area, I think it'd be safe to say that I'd declare this as my go-to place. Next time I'm in NC, I'll be sure to visit once again to relive the initial experience.
Love Heist. Beer is pretty good, its a great building. Parking can get tight at busier times. The real star is the food. While slightly overpriced (it is NoDa after all), every morsel Ive had here is fantastic. Creative menu. Lots of good options. Chicken N Waffles Tacos are my favorite but havent had a bad shared plate yet. Flatbreads are also creative but small for the price.
Delicious food, great atmosphere. We took the light rail through Uptown to NoDa. Heist Brewery was our first stop for the day. The food was excellent. I had a couple beer that were very good. This place has a great atmosphere. Our waitress was knowledgeable on the beers and helpful on selecting our lunch. Will go back next time we are in CLT.
