Went with a small group around 9pm on a Friday. Busy but we we're seated right away upstairs. The restaurant is just a house. The service was great. The place was a little noisy because of the groups around us. Goat cheese appetizer was delicious and the entire portions were well sized and delicious. They have outdoor seating and free parking behind the restaurant . Highly recommend.
300 East is always wonderful and remains one of my favorite places to go for dinner in Charlotte. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and they've fully utilized this old two-story home to create a warm environment with a charm of its own. The menu is reasonably priced and offers a variety of choices to suit most palates, and they offer a nice selection of wines and cocktails to enjoy while dining. It's a wonderful place either to meet a group of friends or to spend time with someone special.
I really wanted to review this place higher because it's so highly reviewed but I got to say it was pretty average for the prices that they charge. When they served us pimento spread with crackers they sent out Saltines. When we ordered a sandwich the bread was about as ordinary as you could get it any grocery store we did enjoy their soup which was French onion but I really can't give him more than three stars because they are really packaging and charging for something greater than they truly are it was a Charming little area but I think that people are more in love with the idea of this place and the descriptions then they are the actual food to put in front of you. Are $75 lunch was really not worth more than about $30 at best.
Went tonight with a friend. We had the goat cheese appetizer, which was delicious. I had the hanger steak, also delicious, and she had the crab cake which I tasted and was also great! We loved everything we had and they had a really good beer selection as well. I can highly recommend.
Their onion soup looked really yummy, but sadly it was too salty :( the tuna burger was too bland as well. The steak is good. I have always heard good things about this place from my coworkers. But I'm not a huge fan.
