I am from Texas so it's really hard to find good texas BBQ in Charlotte that taste like Texas- alot is NC BBQ which is good but diffrent than texas - it has more of a vinegar taste. This place is definitely a 9.5 out of 10! It reminded me of dinners I would have growing up in Dallas. Okra was crispy, corn bread was soft, sweet tea was brewed to perfection, ribs were juicy, and brisket was just right. The texas toast had a diffeent feel but was yummy. I loved the sweet bbq sauce it really added flavor to the meal. The only reason for me that I give a 9.5 out of 10 is because the chicken just didn't do it for me. I also loved the precautions they were taking for covid19 with not using the same cups for refills and mask wearing. They also had a ton of to go orders while we were there and the team did fantastic greeting the people who were dining in and taking out. Dinner for two for all of this was 35$ - can't beat that for all the food we got!!! Highly recommend if you are wanting some non north Carolina bbq to visit this place. Will Definitely be keeping this place on my list of good food!

My husband and I stopped at the City Barbeque for lunch Because we wanted to try out a local restaurant And see how the local people were that was near were we will be moving too and we ran across this place. I must say this is the best food we have tasted. The service was superb!!! Matt Chaney the General Manager took our order and after telling him this was our first time there he took the time to go over the menu with us. He provided excellent customer service and it just showed us that we choose a great place to see the interaction of the local people. It was great and we look forward to bringing the family there when we move for dinner in the near future. Thanks Matt for showing us that southern hospitality!!! It was a pleasure eating at your restaurant today.

Good when its good. I think barbeque restaurants should strive for consistency. Nothing like going and getting tender ribs, awesome tasting brisket and sides one day. Then going back a few weeks later and getting ribs that cooked too long or end pieces that are tough and over cooked, dried out brisket and over salted collard greens, or green beans. When you get all if it in the same meal...you have to wait and give a few more months for them to get it right again. Food that pricey can be hit or miss. Consistent every time. That's how you make a regular out of me.

Not good. No turkey, no rub available and we ordered a chicken sandwich and got bare chicken with sauce. Ribs were by the bone instead if a slab. Usually good, not today.

My daughter loves the brisket sandwich! We go once a week to eat. Great place for BBQ!
