French Quarter Restaurant
I've been here twice and both times the food was very mediocre. You wouldn't be able to tell how mediocre this place is by observing their crowd. Its always busy here. The inside is lively and bustling. The outside seating area is also very energetic. For a quick drink with friends and maybe an appetizer, this place will suffice. However, if you value taste over atmosphere, you will probably be better served finding somewhere else.
This place makes me look forward to Thursdays. The Thursday lunch special includes this awesome baked chicken (preference of white or dark meat), heaping serving of mashed potatoes and gravy, perfectly steamed broccoli covered in hollandaise sauce, and topped with a crispy piece of garlic bread. Everything on the plate is seasoned just right. I always go with the white meat and it hasnt done me wrong yet. It also included a tea, all for under $10. Now I wish it was Thursday.
Came across this place unexpectedly. Looked like definitely could be fun at time. During daytime hours, served good food and nice outdoor seating.
Neat little place. Workers very friendly. Worst "Cajun" influenced food I've ever tasted! Blackened fish was peppery as it should be but had no other flavors. Red beans and rice was more of a rice mixture with whole red beans thrown in. The crab soup, I'm not quite sure even what that consisted of. Unfortunately, this lunch went straight into the garbage. Stick to tavern foods, and get you a real Cajun cook in there!! I'm from New Orleans and this was not New Orleans flavors.
Always a great place to eat. Don't miss the Baked Chicken special on Thursdays. Good food reasonably priced, can't beat it.
