Great food, especially brunch. Their eggs taste like eggs... So fresh! I recommend getting the jam for the jalapeno biscuit. So delicious! We enjoyed Marquis. He is a kind and all around positive guy. Great service. Haymaker is a beautiful restaurant and perfect place drinks. If you're like me and never know what to get but you have a flavor you're craving, ask for Milton. He's a creative and awesome bartender, with great customer service. He created the most delicious drinks and shots for us!

We went to Haymaker as it appeared to be an up and coming brunch spot with a great atmosphere. We were seated relatively quickly and the atmosphere was indeed great. Unfortunately, it just goes downhill from there. My cohort and I both ordered a burger but we werent asked about a temperature so I was under the assumption it was maybe a smash burger or just all cooked to something near medium. Our food took around 45 minutes to arrive. Now that we had really worked up an appetite, I was excited to dig into my burger. Upon taking a bite I was met with the most charred and dry patty I have ever had. It was as if the cook placed the patties on the grill, took his lunch break, and then came back to scrape their decrepit remains off the grill and onto a bun. There was enough carbon on that burger that if we pressed hard enough Im sure we could create diamonds. Our server was extremely nice and was obviously not to blame. She was about the only redeeming quality that haymaker has to offer. She apologized profusely and happily removed them from the bill without us asking. I was hesitant to even give 2 stars, but the service and atmosphere were above average so it earns some points there. That being said, I cannot bring myself to return here, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone else. Save your money and your palate and dine elsewhere.

Service was terrific and knowledgeable. Checked on food for us when it took a little while, was informed about the menu and helpful with selections. The food was a mix of highs and lows. The pork belly dish was terrific, really nicely cooked with a "rice grits" that went perfectly with it. Blue crab fritters were nicely fried but lacking crab meat. There were bites where there was 0 crab in it. The fries had a nice home made aioli but were a bit soggy and not well fried. I'd go back but would only order the pork belly again.

Not sure what's up with the bad reviews. The food was excellent! This place is 5 star. Nothing less. Highly recommend the octopus and the mushroom toast.

I really enjoyed the food and drink here. We were in town for a single night and were looking for an interesting local meal with good food and interesting cocktails. It checked all the boxes. The duck was amazing and the sauce for the fries was great. I wouldn't hesitate to stop in here again if my travels take me to Charlotte.
