Modeled after a modern fish camp, this second restaurant from restaurant power couple Joe and Katy Kindred focuses on simple food with the beautiful Lake Norman as its backdrop. The seafood dishes are the stars, but the tiki drinks are standouts. Currently offering dockside and curbside pickup, patio dining at reduced capacity and reservations required to dine-in.
Cuisine Type: Seafood
Ambience: Casual Dining
Second trip with similar results both times. We really had high hopes after being impressed by Kindred. Were foodies but the menu is too obscure. Service was fine but the cocktails took too long. We love a nice meal and are willing to pay for it but you can imagine our surprise when our sons entree showed up as $54.99 on the bill. Our 9 year old son, who is admittedly a foodie but has eating restrictions, ordered the crab legs at market price. We expected them to be pricier than the average meal and you obviously take a risk ordering things at market price but we were a bit taken aback at the final price. He got 4 slender crab legs with no sides for that price. We would have appreciated if the staff had warned us or made an alternative suggestion. Even the 2 slices of watermelon we ordered our other son was $4.
We have had two great experiences at Hello, Sailor this week! We had the popcorn shrimp, jerk catfish, spicy chicken sandwich and the AMAZING duck fat fries and ALL were delicious! The atmosphere is fun, our servers have been wonderful, and the view of the lake is great. We will definitely be back to bring our out of town guests!
Lettuce wasn't fresh in the wedge. Spicy Chicken Sandwich was drowned in sauce
Shocking how poor this restaurant was. Just so disappointed about the food quality.
Dominique, bar tender, is AMAZING! She had multiple tables and a full bar and still managed to give personal attention to each customer. I give Dom 5 stars. The restaurant I give 4 stars due to a lack of menu options and table seating was closed by 3:30 pm. All staff were really nice.
