Modeled after a modern fish camp, this second restaurant from restaurant power couple Joe and Katy Kindred focuses on simple food with the beautiful Lake Norman as its backdrop. The seafood dishes are the stars, but the tiki drinks are standouts. Currently offering dockside and curbside pickup, patio dining at reduced capacity and reservations required to dine-in.

Chill spot away from downtown Charlotte. The relaxing atmosphere lake side is well worth a trip. Service was excellent. Our server, Heather, was exceptional. She answered all our questions and was accommodating to all our requests. Food was great and fresh. Hush puppies and mussels appetizers were delicious. Our Italian beef sandwiches and friend's burger were great as well. The key lime cheesecake was a great end to our early dinner. Prices were a tad bit higher than average but money well spent for atmosphere and great service. If you're a drinker, they have an indoor and outdoor bar available. Highly recommend this place and will visit again during the fall season. Menu changes with the weather. Hidden gem.
The service was OUTSTANDING! Hannah was very friendly and amazing. The food was incredible. The spicy chicken sandwich has a great zing with delicious flavor. The cauliflower steak was extremely unique and phenomenal; cheese, ground almonds, and an egg. My father has a lot of dietary restrictions and they made a custom salad to accommodate. This will definitely be a go-to spot for us!
View/location is fabulous, no complaints on service. We went on a rainy Monday so they werent busy at all. The hostess was friendly and our server was attentive. On to the food. We split 3 appetizers, crab claws, mussels and wings. Mussels were excellent! That said, they give you two slices of bread and literally refuse to give you more even if you want to pay for it. In my life Ive never been to a restaurant (fancy, middle of the road or otherwise) that had such an absurd policy. The broth is fabulous dipped in bread and you wind up with a whole bowl full and no way to eat it. Considering how expensive this place is that seems like an incredibly poor customer experience. Our waiter was extremely apologetic, wasnt his fault. Included a picture of the yummy broth we had to leave wasted on the table for reference. Crab claws were awful, super expensive yet flavorless. Would never recommend or get these again. Smoked wings were very good, meat was a touch dry (Pump House in Rock Hill does similar wings and theirs are always super juicy), but it was a decent size order and the white sauce that came with them is delicious. Would order those again for sure.

I would recommend Hello, Sailor to anyone!! This past Memorial Day Weekend, I hosted my sister's baby shower at Hello, Sailor - and I cannot say enough good things. First and foremost, each and every member of the staff at Hello, Sailor was kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. We all felt so welcome, and so taken care of - I would encourage anyone to hold an event here in a heartbeat. Second, the food and drinks were delicious! We received such good feedback from all the guests. My husband was jealous to have missed the event after seeing pictures of the food. Lastly, the event space was perfect -- exactly what we had had in mind. They had roped off a section for us and had gift tables and everything. I cannot recommend Hello, Sailor highly enough to anyone. If you're wanting to host an event here, do it. If you're just wanting a delicious meal here, do it. I cannot wait to come back in the future!!
Sweet wait staff, beautiful outdoor eating. We went an hour before our reservation to have a drink at the patio bar. I got the rainbow citrus salad - huge and delicious! We ordered the hush puppies as the appetizer and they were incredible. Other people in our group got the flounder/fries which looked so good if you're wanting a fish n' chips, and the arugula salad which was great as well. Super evening! *Hot for the first bit and then cooled off around 7pm.
