I have been going to Mama's since it opened, and never had a bad meal. It is my go-to restaurant to bring out of town visitors to, because I can count on everyone loving their meals. Whether salad, pasta, pizza, or a meal entree, it is all good. Nice large atmosphere, and the new-ish enclosed patio is a nice addition. Perfect for a date, or a large party, and their catering is good too. I like their family style option when we go with a larger party. It makes for a special evening out.
Four of us all enjoyed the different dishes we ordered. Nice atmosphere. Variety of pricing. Fine waiter. All pleased.
Outstanding atmosphere, great chefs, great service. The only problem I have is that $25 is a bit high for the salmon with asparagus and mashed taters. A few more asparagus spears (there were only 3) and maybe a slightly larger fillet (looked like it was only 8 oz). Otherwise, splendid experience.
The bread before the meal was good especially the olive oil with seasoning in it. So good and garlicky. I ordered the rigatoni with pork beef and veal in it. The dish seemed small to me but it filled me up. I am not usually able to eat all my food but this one I finished. It was really good. I think my husband and I werent used to so many spices. We coughed a bit but the food wasnt spicy.
A wonderful italian meal! My favorite is the penne a la vodka with either chicken or sausage. The layered chocolate cake is massive, but a must for desert. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Inside is very nice, but not overwhelming at all. So far my favorite Italian restaurant in Charlotte.
