Came here to Celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Having a reservation on a Saturday was super clutch. We avoided having to wait to be seated. Our waitress Lauren was Awesome! She gave us some great suggestions to try out. The Overall experience was fast paced but pleasant. Definitely will be back

I recently visited Mama Ricotta's for the first time and overall, my experience was average. While the food was decent, it didn't quite meet my expectations for all the hype I had heard for this restaurant. The pasta was cooked well, but the sauce lacked depth of flavor and the chicken was dry and unseasoned. Additionally, while my pasta and my mother's pasta had little flavor and was quite bland, other members of my party had well seasoned pasta dishes that was far better by comparison, bringing up questions regarding consistency of dish preparation in the kitchen. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and had a upscale feel, but the service was slow and inattentive at times. Additionally, our waitress forgot to bring items we asked for to the table more than once. While I wouldn't necessarily discourage someone from trying this restaurant, I also wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it. Overall, it was an average dining experience that didn't quite live up to my expectations for Italian cuisine.

The food and service was excellent. I will definitely dine again. The pizza has a nice and crispy crust; the pastas were all delicious and flavorful. Dined on a Wednesday and it was packed! I recommend making a reservation for dinner.

The hotel where I am staying during my much-needed needed self care trip to Charlotte recommended Mama Ricotta's! And wow, such a great spot! For a Sunday night they were super busy. I am glad it was just me as I was sat down right away. I checked out their menu while I waited a while for a server. Finally Connor came over and he made me feel right at home. He got my water and wine and checked on me regularly. He recommended the Pieropan wine go with the penne and broccoli. I swapped out the chicken for shrimp and it was delicious. The lemon cream sauce was a little thick, but it has tons of flavor and was just so good! My stomach was unable to fit everything in, so thank God for to go boxes! As it was my birthday Connor surprised me with a cake! A thick piece of chocolate cake--and wow, super rich and yummy as well. I wish that I could've finished more of it, but again it went in a to go box. I see why you need a reservation at this restaurant as the food is very good and authentic as well as it is a very chill and cool atmosphere. I will be back when I am in the area!

We were greeted warmly on arrival. The service was top notch right from the start.. the servings of warm bread with infused red pepper oil, the mozzarella and tomato starters, pasta for mains and bread pudding for desert. There was no room to tuck in the delicious food. Will surely be back.
