Loved Matties Diner in Charlotte NC. Been wanting to try it for awhile. The service was fantastic. They had a really amazing menu. The prices were very reasonable as well. I had the Ya might be a redneck which was chicken fried steak, toast, 2 eggs and home fries. I also had a side of onion rings- they were seasoned so well and very crispy. We also shared a slice of French toast which was absolutely delicious. The syrup was really good too. We also had the S.O.S. which was shingled toast and came with gravy and sausage. That was flavorful. I definitely want to go back and have a burger. My only negative would be that there was no air-conditioning. I would still go back.

First time here. Service was very attentive and helpful. I made a special request for salmon bowl instead of potatoes I wanted grits. So yummy, it was a hefty amount of food. Husband got Italian Stallion. They don't have alcohol yet but coming soon. Decent parking on off times. Nice outdoor seating for overflow. Second visit tried some new things on the menu, good food and service again.

Going to Matties was a totally spontaneous decision. We have been once when it was still located at the music factory. I must say, the service and especially the food as improved. Pretty much every meal also has a vegan option. The portions are very generous, the food tastes Homemade and the milkshake was made with real ice cream. They also have vegan ice cream. I will definitely be back, its nice to have a local and affordable place opening up in the mix of all those new high end restaurants.

Great place, felt like I had stepped into a NJ diner. Friendly staff, prompt service and a really fun atmosphere. Has the best pattie melt; flavorful, juicy, but not greasy. The beer batter onion rings were amazing, and the chicken fried chicken was delicious with their sawmill gravy. Will be coming back again soon!

We're so excited Mattie's is back! After going there for years after concerts and comedy shows at the music factory, we were sad to see them replaced with a parking deck. The atmosphere is every bit as retro as it used to be with an added new CLT vibe! New features include a great outdoor space, a fresh herb garden, and plenty of room. The food and service are fantastic! We will definitely be back.
