We had a reservation at 7pm for 10 people last night . We were visiting our son at Davidson for family weekend and it coincided with his birthday. When we arrived at 7pm we were told they were clearing the table for us. At 7:15pm we were still waiting. When I asked why it was taking so long to clear the table, the hostess told us they were actually waiting for one of two tables to leave to make the table for 10 but that both tables had their checks so it shouldn't be long .At 7:25 we were still waiting and I asked the several people at the hostess station if they could please do something. All 10 of us had been standing in the vestibule for a table we had reserved for 7pm. One of the hostesses said they were clearing the table to which I responded that we had been told that incorrectly when we got there almost half an hour ago. When I turned around my daughter saw her roll her eyes. First, it would have been nice if they told us the truth to begin with and second, it would have been nice if they offered us a drink at the bar or something while we waited .We were finally seated at 7:30. Although the waiter was very friendly, it took another 30 minutes for our order to be taken only to find that they were out of ribs so three of our party had to choose something else. There food was fine and the waiter really was very pleasant and helpful and apologetic for the ribs being sold out. But in all, the evening was a bit disappointing. When a restaurant keeps a large party with a reservation waiting half an hour, instead of getting an attitude, a sincere apology would have been nice and possibly a complimentary beverage to make up for the delay. Won't be returning here on our next trip to NC.
Nice location and food is great. My mom came from out of town so we came in to eat and she said its the best food shes ever had. I had the ribs and she had the chicken and rib combo plate. I wish they had a better dessert selection but overall everything was good. I also ordered the pimento cheese fries for an appetizer and they were okay. Overall, we will visit again!
Bruh! 1.5lb beef rib. I'm thinking of buying a cow, taking it in on a leash, and saying "turn it in to that." I probably eat here once a week, and their specials are always creative, delicious, and true to Q. They have a really decent local brewery rotational draft selection, and their whiskey selection is beyond impressive. Wait staff are friendly and honest about what they like or don't. There are few places where I really have enjoyed everything I've ever ordered. Midwood is top of that list.
Just do it. If your looking for BBQ in the area, this is your spot! I recommend the ribs over the brisket (half rack is plenty). Mac & cheese is amazing and so are the hush puppies. You definitely won't leave hungry! We tried this in two locations and were pleased both time. Definitely recommend! This location in particular has a lot of seating and good service.
Second location Ive been too. Still great all around. The food is consistent and the menu is the same as the location in Charlotte proper. Even though they are in a mall type location, the smoker is still in house, partitioned into a glass section off by the kitchen. Good beers, cocktails and service. Will continue to visit on my trips to the Charlotte area
