Mehhhhh It's ok.
I had spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. The salad that came with it was crisp with a very tasty, balsamic vinaigrette. The spaghetti was steaming hot when it arrived....perfect! The way it should be served. The sauce was a very good marinara and the meat balls were also very good. I highly recommend; Amazing

Atmosphere is very cozy and authentic. Their most popular lasagna dish was just okay to me. LOTS OF CHEESE but very little sauce...meatballs tasted fantastic. Salad was fresh. (Medium is like size of a dinner salad) Food was made fresh and it was almost ready on time, which I didnt mind because everything was hot. I will try something else next time.

Needless to say this isnt a normal review that most would find, but neither is the situation I faced tonight around 10 PM. However I wanted to share the experience I had with both this establishment and particularly the owner. It was AMAZING As I was driving home I had a flat tire. As I took an emergency exit directly off the highway, Open kitchen was the first thing I saw. Unfortunately my night got even worse when I realized I didnt have a Jack. However I was extremely fortunate because the owner himself not only lended me his equipment, but also assisted with the actual replacement Itself (even after close!!) All in all, this was a world class service and Id highly recommend you give this place a shot!
Open kitchen is a Charlotte North Carolina landmark. Located on West Morehead Street just driving into the parking lot evokes memories of a bygone era in Charlotte. Why is that? It's a remnant of Charlotte before the big Banks moved in, the influx of masses of people and all the historic buildings demolished. For those of us who grew up around here it's a nice reminder of a more innocent, simpler and gentile Charlotte.
