Samoha African Cuisine
One star lost for food portions. I saw someone dining-in and it looks like the portion size is much larger than take out order. Other than that the food tastes amazing and the staff very friendly.
Good food and awesome service, always enjoy the 2hr journey cause Im never disappointed!! My little small friend in the front makes the experience better all the time she isnt Nigerian but ask her anything about whats in the soups and shell tell you I always request for her & her only because she claims Yoruba Samoha for the win!!
This was once the place in Charlotte for Nigerian cuisine. It has, however gone steadily downhill over the past year or so. The lovely woman who owned the place and was doing the cooking is nowhere to be found anymore. The food is subpar and the meat portions are embarrassing. Then theres the help. I know that the service industry has been hit hard but could you throw some money at it and get someone with a pulse behind the counter? No suya, no fried rice, no meat pies. The guy who seems to be managing the place/running the kitchen creates total chaos in the ordering and payment process In short, save yourself the trip. And if youre trying to call and they dont answer, now you know why.
Great food but theyre understaffed. Every time I go, theres always that one server. She always does a good job at keeping it together but she cashes, Answers the phone and serve which is ridiculous. I wouldnt recommend going there on a Saturday.
I received my meal through door dash while on vacation in Charlotte. I had jollof rice, stewed chicken, and plantains. In my opinion this African food is like Chinese food sold in in America. It has been Americanized to cater to American's palate. It lacked original flavor, spice, and heat.
