If I could give 10 stars I would! Intimate and thoughtful decor, beautiful food and wonderful service. Went in for a simple birthday dinner but ended up with an entire culinary experience. Can't rave enough about the absolutely delicious food, these guys have taken gluten free & vegan cuisine to new heights. The care and attention to detail here made for an all around great night. We ordered lots of different dishes because we just couldn't decide.. My favorite thing was the crispy oyster mushrooms...wait....ok, maybe it was the butternut squash fried ravioli....or shoot, hold on.... okay, it was the portobello Rockefeller... or.. maybe the Lions mane steak...?? Clearly I need another visit to narrow in down. :)

I committed to being vegan a month and a half ago and this was our first vegan restaurant. We didnt know what to expect but I was excited to try it. I felt bad for hubby who had no clue what to order and we were not sure what a lot of the menu items were. Everything exceeded our expectations, from the delicious food, to the tranquil atmosphere and the helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely go back and try more dishes.

For my birthday I always like to try a new place. I have been plant based for a while and decided on Sanctuary Bistro. It was perfect. The chowder was well seasoned, the oyster mushrooms battered and fried amazingly, butternut squash ravioli was perfect. I had a few sides but really the entrees spoke for themselves. I saw the take home menu and can't wait to come back and grab a few items to go. I wish it was closer to home but definitely worth the drive.

If you are seeking mouthwatering culinary food with all the trappings, Sanctuary Bistro is the place to go. Of all the restaurants we visited in Charlotte, I would put this one at the top of the list for exquisite vegan food. Everything on the menu is vegan. The decorum is simple, yet elegant. The waitress offered excellent service. The restaurant is small and does not have many tables. Reservations are probably a good idea.

Sanctuary Bistro is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. This is THE restaurant I want everyone I know to experience. Having worked in restaurants for over 25 years, I rarely rave about both service and food, but both are on a caliber that is rarely seen in a CLT restaurant. I'm not even vegan, but between the laid-back vibe, INCREDIBLE service and OUT OF THIS WORLD food, my only complaint would be the parking lot (thanks Trader Joe's). The oyster mushrooms are SO INCREDIBLE, I even ate our leftovers cold. If you're looking for great service and food with an unplugged vibe, there's nowhere else you should go. Your best bet is to make a RSVP. There's a $15 fee per person, but it's immediately refunded when your party arrives. More than likely, Jennifer will be your server. If you don't remember her, chances are she'll remember you.
