While in Charlotte for a Panther's game, my husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn City Center. After two days of non-stop walking, we wanted something close by for dinner and walked directly across the street to the Soho Bistro for Chinese. It was honestly some of the best Asian food I've ever had. The restaurant is small and has an intimate feeling to it. The staff was attentive and interacted with us, which was nice. The food was fresh, tasty, and reasonable. We enjoyed pan fried chicken dumplings, egg rolls and Walnut Chicken. The entree portion was generous and enough for two to share. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food. If we find ourselves in Charlotte in the future, we will go back here for sure.
Used to come here all the time with coworkers and food was great, however over the last year the 3 or 4 times I have ordered the food just doesn't cut it any more. Tangerine chicken tastes like the oil was couple of days old, not much sauce on the chicken and fried rice tastes like an ashtray (not even sure how you accomplish that). Time to try somewhere new for my Chinese food fix,
I dine in this great restaurant quite a bit! This is the best place to grab a bite. I go there routinely. The food is excellent, the staff members are welcoming and the cost is decent. I like being in this restaurant for a good supper.
they Can cook some food! I am vegan and can find plenty of options. Their General Tao's Tofu is so good. You have to add vegetables though... that is a bummer.
First time here and I would definitely come back. Went with simple and stereotypical choices: general tso and orange tangerine chicken and crab wontons with hot and sour and egg drop soups. The chicken was really well done but the sauce lacked any spicy kick. The service was good. I would recommend to any one wanting Chinese in the uptown area.
