This was my second visit to State of Confusion. I enjoyed it so much on last Friday, my husband and I had a lunch date here today. I love the monkey bread and the calamari. The monkey bread is very filling with a mix of cheeses and this light cream sauce in the middle. The calamari today was a bit overly breaded, but it was perfect a few days prior. A few days prior it was light and airy and very flavorful. The calamari was cooked well and not rubbery. Since this was a late afternoon lunch date and we had littles to pick up from school, I got the pesto chicken to go. My husband dived into to his Po Boy immediately and I stole a few shrimp from his plate which was perfectly cooked with a light breading and crisp crunch. I love the artsy vibe of this place and will definitely return!

Great for get togethers and maybe drinking beer. I ordered an old fashioned and it was not the classic by any means. Buffalo Trace didnt even help. But there is plenty of space for meetups and more after work, on the weekends, and for first dates. I went with friends and we set upstairs on the deck. The kitchen is downstairs so the food has a journey to reach you. Hopefully they get your order right the first time or you could have a long wait to get your new meal. The monkey bread had partially melted cheese so it was sent back for more melting. That didnt help because it was just bad in general. The cheese sauce combined with shredded cheese just did not work. Complete no-go. The ceviche samplers was cool but the shrimp was not deveined. Huh??? The side salad was okay and safe. The pan seared chicken was fair. The shrimp pesto pasta was alright and the shrimp was deveined. Although the crispy sweet potato chips on top were not crispy at all. So much for that. The steak was decent was not cooked as requested. It was actually over cooked and had to be sent back for another one. By that time that got to the table we needed it to go. This is a one and done. Tik Tok got it wrong but my friend drug is there so the marketing ploy worked to an extent. In summary, shots only and keep the food simple before you dine and drink elsewhere. On a high note, the beignets were okay. They dont taste quite like beignets but you cant expect them to really.

I recently visited this new restaurant in town, and overall, I had a great experience. The service was top-notch- our server was AMAZING and would go back just to see him, the drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere had a great vibe. However, there was one major issue that made the experience less than perfect: the smell of bonfire smoke. Unfortunately, the smoke seemed to be coming from two bonfires downstairs, and it was so strong that it drifted all the way up to the rooftop where I was sitting. In our mouths, eyes, everywhere. It was absolutely atrocious, and even though I washed everything I was wearing and brought with me (seriously even my apple watch band), I still can't seem to get the smell out. It's such a shame because otherwise, this restaurant would have been a fantastic spot to enjoy a night out with friends. But the overwhelming smell of smoke really put a damper on the experience. If the restaurant could do something to mitigate the smell, especially with such a gorgeous rooftop, it would make a world of difference. Overall, I'd recommend this restaurant for its great service, drinks, and ambiance, but be warned about the strong smell of smoke that could potentially ruin your clothes and linger with you long after you leave & take multiple showers.

first time here and I thought it was good, the setting, the food, the service. Yes parking is tight but it is everywhere in Southend and in Loso. Had the bison burger, Confusion potatoes and the mini Snickers pie (which was excellent) Lots of outside dining ground level upper patio and inside. with this area growing it will gain more and more popularity for sure.

Cajun + Latin Flavors = An Incredible Combination The flavors and cook on all of our food were just right. Drinks were refreshing and flavorful. My 5-year-old and I both enjoyed our meals from the starters to the last bite of our entrees. The environment was fun and family friendly, and they had plenty of inside and outside seating. We will be definitely be back!
