The Dumpling Lady

As for my hometown food, I always have high expectations. I have to say I was let down a little bit I ordered their most popular items, Cumin beef noodle with shrimp and chicken dumplings. The dumpling sauce was very authentic and tasty( spicy, salty and flavorful). But the dumplings were cooked so long that the skin was soggy and broken. The noodle was kind of bland compared to what I had growing up. Overall its still a good place if you want some Chinese dumplings and noodles. This place is close to my office so I will come back and try again. I hope it will be better next time.

Great food, friendly staff. Smaller than I expected, but I think thats part of the appeal for most other people, and the small spots usually are the best. I love Asian food, especially dumplings so this was a must-try when I found out it was moving to the South End area. I was not disappointed! Not only did I love the dumplings, but the sauce was insane! Definitely recommend this one to anyone who wants to try it out! Ill be back soon!

Really great food, solid prices, and great service! Their szechuan dishes are hot and ready (I had their mapo tofu + rice which was great), and their noodles + dumpling weekday lunch combo is a great deal (also had their chili chicken noodles + veggie dumplings). Ive been craving the szechuan spice taste but havent been able to make it to their other locations, and Im so happy theres a quick, walkable location now in south end! The area desperately needs good tasting, properly spicy food! This is going to be a new go-to lunch spot for me :)

The food was good, made fresh to order. The seating leaves a lot to be desired especially for more than 2 people. The outside seating had a chair and a stool. Definitely could use better outdoor seating.

So excited to have a new location for The Dumpling Lady! I go all the time at the Optimist Hall location and I normally stick to the sweet pork belly! This time I got the Pan Fried Pork Buns and the Yi Bin Ran Mian and oh boy!! The pork buns were so good and the Yi Bin was the classic Dumpling Lady spicy taste also so cute and colorful!! (I got mine with the beef) The girl up front named Jamie was such a sweet heart! Such good service!!! She recommended the Cumin beef so Ill be back to get that one next time!
