Dan and team catered our wedding this past May 6th. Dan was wonderful to work with and not only cared about the food, but that the whole day went well. The pulled chicken, potato salad, and green beans were exceptionally great. We only heard good things about the food and service from our guests. I would totally recommend that you use The Q Shack to cater your next event or wedding!
We found the Q Shack in Charlotte while looking for another BBQ joint someone recommended. We were SO happy we ate at the Q Shack. The smoked Turkey is EXCELLENT and the brisket very, very good. Portions were plentiful and the food was fresh and home style. I definitely recommend this one in Charlotte.
The food is pretty good and employees are always friendly. I do feel that the prices are a bit high. I ate lunch here on Tuesday and my lunch alone was $16. I ordered the brisket plate and a soda. The brisket plate came with 2 sides. I eat out almost every lunch and that price is pretty high compared to even the nearby full service restaurants (Hickory Tavern, Char Bar 7, even Firebirds). Which brings me to my next point... I tip whenever I eat there. I worked as a waitress for many years so I always tip when necessary. After all, there is a tip line on the receipt when paying with a card. I have realized that was a mistake because no one waited on me, no one offered to refill my soda, no one cleaned up my plates when I finished... I did all of that myself. So I basically tip for no reason .
My favorite BBQ place, serving up the best Carolina pork! The service is so friendly and prompt. Their sides are plentiful and delicious, especially the hush puppies and mac & cheese. Not to mention, the bomb banana pudding.
Had the $6.99 lunch special. Bbq sandwich with baked beans. The meat on the sandwich was cooked right and flavorful. The sauces to put on the sandwich lacked flavor and were not very good. The baked beans were ok at best. The hushpuppies were quite tasty. They seemed to have Air Conditioning issues, which made the sit uncomfortable in July.
